MY APPROACH
This isn’t the type of photography where you look at the camera and smile constantly. Most of the time, you won’t be looking at the camera at all. Instead, let your dog be themselves, and you will be able to focus on your dog and enjoy the silly things they love to do. I’m easygoing and just want to capture the unique personality and spirit that make your pet special.
Atypical
Let go of trying to make your pet act a certain way and just let them be themselves. It is important that you and your pet enjoy the photoshoot in a relaxed and positive setting. With patience, I can work with any dog, especially those who are shy or easily distracted. This approach ensures both you and your dog feel at ease.
Positive Experience
Clients often tell me how they regret either not having had a picture taken before, or going with the cheapest option - your pet’s playful; moment can’t be recreated. These photos are incredibly valuable and will become even more precious with each passing year. If you are hunting for the lowest price, that is okay but that is not me. However, if you are looking to invest in photos that you know will gain value, then I am your person.
Invest in memories
From the moment you book a session with me until you are enjoying your print product in your home, I will be here to help and create something you treasure.
Let me help you
The first step is taking a peek around this website. If my images made you feel something and you want to work with me, simply fill out the inquiry form and book a no-obligation 15-minute discovery call with me.
It is important for us to have a quick chat before booking a session, and discover things that are important for your session, about your dog; If you decide we are a good match and ready to book a session, I’ll send you the booking form. After you fill out the form your spot will be reserved. We’ll then design a photo session that feels best for your pet and you.
Step one: Inquiry and Let’s Chat
On the day of the photo session, we will meet at the location. In most cases, I will explore the location in advance and plan a route. During our session, you and your dog’s only task is to be yourself - whether your dog is barking at every squirrel or exploring each tree trunk, it’s absolutely fine. Just relax, as I assure you I’ll capture stunning images.
In the process of crafting, there’s also a meticulous retouching and post-production phase, involving several days of dedicated work on every detail to create something truly iconic.
Step two: Your session day
About three weeks after your session day, it’s time for your image reveal and ordering appointment. We’ll connect either over Zoom or in person to view your images. I will select the successful photos you can choose from. Some of these photos will be edited and some will still be unedited. The edited photos can be used as a guideline for how the chosen photos will eventually look like.
After you’ve chosen your favorites, we’ll determine the best way to display your gorgeous new images. I will then get to work on editing and sending final image files into production and produce gorgeous custom archival artwork that you will love for a lifetime.
Step three: Choose your favorite
The art is passed to my printing partners who hand print, hand vanish, hand make and hand frame the artwork to our exacting standard per your request. They then package the piece and deliver it with great care to us.
Once I have checked the piece, I then deliver it to you. Each time you look at them you will be reminded of the joy that your furry family brings you.
Step four: Enjoy every day
Don't wait until it's too late. My availability is limited each season because I focus on storytelling and getting to know you and your dog personally.
Every detail matters to me.

WALL ART, ALBUM, FOLIO BOX
The way your photos were meant to be presented
Why would you buy art from the store and hang it in your house when you can get the custom artwork featuring your pet? I believe that your pet photographs deserve more than just a digital existence. They should be part of your everyday life.
One day, most likely, Instagram will be gone, your phone will be replaced and images that you can physically hold in your hand will be the best way to remember those precious moments we captured.
Think about this fact: fifteen years ago, if we had delivered you digital images, they would have been on a floppy disk. With the fast updates to technology, you would have no way to access those images today. Even the online galleries we deliver will eventually fade away.
When professional pet photography is printed and designed to coordinate with your home and its decor, your pets become your art; It is not just a photograph anymore. It’s an investment so worth it that you’ll wonder how you ever lived without it. As your pet gets old pretty quickly; these images will help you remember their playfulness, quirkiness, and unique personalities. These moments you will want to keep close to your heart.
Let’s bring your memories to life!

I require a $245+tax non-refundable session fee to secure your spot on my calendar. This includes a pre-session consultation, an on location photography session, professional editing of your images, and image reveal and ordering session.
Product Options
One of the wonderful things about custom photography is that you can decide how much you’d like to invest in your artwork. Many clients find they love their images so much that they want them all! Costs vary, as every person and family is unique. Some spend $500, while others spend well over $6000. Ultimately, the choice is yours, and I’m here to help you choose the heirlooms that are perfect for you. Products start at $495.
These aren't just photos of your dog. We are creating art.
The safety of our clients is the number one priority during our session and the only dogs that should come off-leash are the ones whose owners are 110% confident in their ability to recall their pet in that particular situation. In certain situations, like urban shooting, we keep even the most well-behaved dogs on their leash for safety. We can also use the special long line during our session to capture some action shots but still ensure they are safe and sound. All leashes will be magically removed in Photoshop from any ordered image at no additional charge.
As of now, all sessions take place outdoors at different locations. Although, some seasonal mini-sessions take place in studio sessions, if you are interested in a studio session, please be sure to sign up for my VIP list. You can do so here.
My main subjects have been dogs for years, however, I would love to photograph horses or any other pets.
The great thing about custom photography is that you can choose how much you would like to invest in your artwork. Most clients find they love their images that they want them all!
Kaori Stewart Photography clients highly value tangible products; however, to provide the best of both worlds, each ordered product includes the matching watermarked social media files of the product’s image(s).
My approach is super relaxed but most importantly it’s all about you and your dog. The direction of the session will change depending on what best suits your personality. Expect to wander ahead, stop for cuddles, and play with toys for an hour or so. You’ll be asked to hold the lead (we’ll show you how), I’ll use squeakers and treats to capture their attention, and lots of positive reinforcement - you’ll be amazed by how your dog listens and responds.
Oh, don't worry about that! We'll be running around playing together- all of which will be captured and can be done on-lead if needed (I'll use magic to remove the lead afterward!). Then there are cuddles with you if you're up for it which will help to calm them down, and then there are my dog whispering super-powers (mostly treats) for the in-between moments!
No problem! We'll just choose an appropriate location, and introduce them to me slowly. I typically ignore all dogs until they come to me, and I'll be sure to do the same with yours! I can also use a long lens to keep my distance.
If your dog is reactive we'll need to keep them on lead (I'll remove it afterward) but otherwise, we'll just keep moving around the location to keep them calm.
For sure (if that's okay!). As you may know already, capturing the connection between you and your dog is one of the biggest inspirations, so yes, everyone from under your roof is invited to join the photos to celebrate your relationship. We can do formal portraits, candid cuddles, distant walking images, or some more abstract images that you're in, but not really (just your hands or legs, etc). We will discuss that during our discovery call, we will discuss what types of images we can create during our session.
